Mutual of Omaha Recognized as Workplace Equality Leader

Omaha, NE – (Nov. 8, 2007) In its second annual survey of U.S. companies, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) once again recognized Mutual of Omaha as a leader in workplace equality for lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender employees.

This year marks the second time Mutual has received high marks on HRC’s Corporate Equality Index, which rates companies on various workplace non-discrimination policies, diversity training, availability of equal benefits and the presence of a corporate-wide diversity council. Other regional companies recognized by the HRC include Applebee’s International, Hallmark Cards, JP Morgan and Sprint Nextel.

“Mutual of Omaha is honored to once again be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign for our leadership in supporting workplace equality,” said Deborah Woods, Diversity Director. “Our high score demonstrates our continued commitment to building a corporate culture that respects and values the unique strengths and differences of our associates, our customers and our community.”

Mutual of Omaha has been recognized for several workplace diversity efforts over the years, including our support of working mothers, our involvement with the INROADS internship program and our supplier diversity relationships.
