This dynamic team is responsible for activating the vision that empowers internal financial data consumers throughout the enterprise with easy access to trusted data. By curating data and enabling contemporary data consumption tools our business partners have accelerated the time to action, decision making and analysis to help achieve our company mission: help our customers protect what they care about and achieve their financial goals. The impact of this team to date has been so powerful that there is now a critical need for an experienced Data Management and Governance Architect to further evolve our data landscape. WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Base Salary: $97,000-$160,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • Benefits and Perks, 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2024, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2024 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Set strategic direction for financial and actuarial data governance and data management while partnering with the Enterprise Data Governance team and the Data and Finance Agile Release Trains.
  • Responsible and accountable for the planning and execution of data management activities across the financial data consumer user base. 
  • Partner with business stakeholders, leadership, Information Services, and the FADS teams to educate and influence on concepts, and implement data management policies.
  • Acquire, apply, and educate others on holistic understanding of Mutual of Omaha’s data landscape from source systems to financial and actuarial repositories details.
  • Serve as business owner of financial and actuarial data repositories that supply data to multiple business partner teams. Provide strategic architectural direction to IS partners related to how data should flow through systems. 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Expert-level knowledge of and proven ability to implement robust data governance and data management programs. 
  • Expert-level knowledge of financial data flows, repositories, and data consumption tools/technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and affect change across diverse stakeholder groups of all levels in a high-performance team environment.
  • Strong knowledge and strategic awareness of industry trends related to data governance, data management, data architecture, and data discovery and consumption tools. 
  • Expert-level project management, leadership, and human relations skills. Ability to develop and maintain business partnerships, including resolving conflicts, mentoring team members of all levels, anticipating customer needs, and prioritizing schedules from multiple customers or suppliers. 
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Knowledge of insurance products, the insurance industry, actuarial science, related legislation, and business operation procedures and practices.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Data Management Book of Knowledge (DMBOK); Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); BABOK (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge); IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis); Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability & Requirements (ADKAR).
