We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer (Engineer IV) to lead the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge technologies for Senior Life Solutions that will enable the business and enterprise. In this role, you will drive software engineering, test automation, and DevOps practices, ensuring optimization across the software lifecycle. As a collaborative leader, you will mentor teams, promote the adoption of best practices, and tackle complex challenges through innovative solutions. You’ll also play a key role in shaping the future of our technical infrastructure by experimenting with emerging technologies and governing engineering standards that align with our business needs and architecture principles.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary: $145,000 - $175,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • Benefits and Perks, 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2024, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2024 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Drive the application of software engineering, test automation, and DevOps practices across the software lifecycle, from development to maintenance and optimization.
    Collaborate with engineering leadership to uncover challenges, accelerate delivery, and promote efficient code through frameworks and patterns.
    Experiment with emerging technologies to influence future Enterprise capabilities and promote automation and self-healing infrastructure solutions.
    Establish and govern Engineering Standards and Reference Architectures, contributing to Enterprise-wide technical direction and modern programming languages.
    Lead the design and development of new technologies and solutions, aligning with business requirements, enterprise Engineering standards and Target Architecture principles.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 10 or more years of relevant development experience with the ability to lead and mentor teams across the Enterprise, coaching others through code reviews and sharing skills to drive the adoption of best practices.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on leveraging the diverse strengths of team members, working effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Challenger of existing processes, with the ability to identify and drive improvements in Enterprise-level processes for better efficiency and outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience using patterns and frameworks to develop and support enterprise-level applications, ensuring efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Quick learner and adaptable, eager to experiment with unfamiliar tasks and emerging technologies to find innovative solutions for the Enterprise.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts, visions, and outcomes to a wide range of audiences, acting as an internal consultant and technical expert.
  • Self-motivated and innovative, consistently driving initiatives to enhance technology and support business transformation across the Enterprise.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Has deep technical development skills and knowledge. Performs complex activities for an Agile Release Train or division and mentors others. Recognized at the Enterprise level for technical acumen and problem-solving skills. Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of business partners and external customers across the Enterprise.
