As our Manager, Evidence of Insurability (EOI) Underwriting, you'll lead your team by managing resources, planning initiatives, and setting goals that align with organizational objectives. You will act as a trusted advisor, coach, and mentor while fostering collaboration with technical and business partners, and serve as a Change Management advocate on complex projects to drive ongoing success.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary: $110,000 - $150,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • Benefits and Perks, 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2025, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2025, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2025 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing medical underwriting team focused on risk-analysis on employees electing group insurance coverages.  The manager will foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Prioritize team development and create opportunities for professional growth.
  • Oversee team operations, including staffing, performance management, and resource allocation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Manage escalated cases and provide strategic guidance on complex underwriting issues. Collaborate with sales teams, brokers, and internal partners to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on underwriting processes and drive innovation by implementing new tools, streamlining workflows, and enhancing team efficiency.
  • Advocate for and lead change management efforts, contributing to enterprise-wide initiatives and projects that enhance overall business performance.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive products, ensuring the team remains adaptable and well-positioned in the market.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in Individual Life, Medical, EOI, or Group Insurance Underwriting.
  • A servant leadership mindset with a passion for nurturing professional growth in yourself and others.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an aptitude for statistical interpretation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build relationships and influence outcomes.
  • Proven ability to develop talent, manage budgets, and drive team performance.
  • Proficiency in business tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, with a focus on insurance or a related field.
  • Knowledge of insurance industry trends, competitive products, and innovative underwriting tools.
