Are you a detail-oriented professional with a knack for numbers and risk analysis? As an Group Renewal Underwriter, you’ll play a key role in evaluating and pricing renewal business for group insurance plans (up to 200 lives). You’ll work across multiple product lines, including Life, Disability, Dental, Vision, and more, ensuring fair and competitive pricing while managing financial risk.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Compensation (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications)
    • Associate Group Underwriter: $22.75 - $28.50 per hour, plus annual bonus opportunity.
    • Group Underwriter: $27.50 - $33.00 per hour, plus annual bonus opportunity.
    • Sr. Group Underwriter:  $66,500 - $86,000 annually, plus annual bonus opportunity.
    • Group Underwriting Consultant - $74,000 - $96,000 annually, plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Analyze data to determine whether group insurance rates and benefits should be maintained or adjusted.
  • Collaborate with sales teams and brokers to communicate underwriting decisions.
  • Work with a variety of insurance products, including life, disability, dental, and voluntary benefits.
  • Stay up to date on industry regulations and underwriting best practices

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 4-year degree in Finance, Business, Actuarial Science or relevant coursework. A background in Group Underwriting and/or Claims may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to make sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel and other underwriting tools.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Knowledge and experience with group life, disability and dental product lines. Previous group underwriting skills and experience.
