The Vice President of Business Systems Development will play a strategic leadership role in driving value through technical solutions that align seamlessly with business objectives. This position will guide a high-performing team to bridge business needs with technical delivery, ensuring that operational systems meet the evolving demands of the organization. By fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams and nurturing stakeholder relationships, the VP will oversee the development of functional specifications that translate complex business requirements into effective system capabilities. This leader will also focus on building and strengthening team expertise, driving innovation, and continuously enhancing processes to support the organization's long-term goals.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary: $180,000 - $240,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • Benefits and Perks, 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Leadership and Team Support: Leads, mentors, and supports teams of Business Systems Consultants and Analysts, ensuring they have the skills, resources, and support needed to drive value for the organization, while overseeing the development and administration of a robust Quality Assurance practice to maintain high standards across operations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders, development teams, and the broader ART, managing communication, priorities, and risk mitigation.
  • Stakeholder and Business Alignment: Builds strong relationships with stakeholders to align business needs with operational capabilities, prioritizing and addressing business requirements through effective planning and execution.
  • Performance and Development: Develops and implements performance goals, conducts regular reviews, and provides growth and development opportunities for team members, fostering a high-performance team culture.
  • Operational Model and System Efficiency: Oversees the design and development of business operational models and system-supported requirements, balancing efficiency, usability, and operational cost-effectiveness.
  • Requirements Gathering and Alignment: Directs the gathering, analysis, and documentation of business requirements, ensuring alignment with Agile Release Train (ART) goals and seamless delivery.
  • Process Improvement and Methodologies: Drives continuous improvement across business systems functions by refining analysis, requirement-gathering processes, and methodologies.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Promotes a culture of continuous improvement by optimizing team processes, workflows, and tools, championing innovative techniques to maximize team effectiveness and drive business value.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Experience and Background: 8+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or related fields within a technology or software development environment, with expertise in managing the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Leadership and Team Management: 5+ years of senior-level leadership experience managing teams of Business Analysts, Business Systems Consultants, or similar roles, driving performance and development.
  • Agile Expertise: Expertise in SAFe Agile frameworks, with a deep understanding of PI planning, ART ceremonies, and Agile Release Train dynamics to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Quality Assurance Expertise: Demonstrated ability to create and maintain an effective Quality Assurance program to ensure operational excellence and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Requirements and Relationship Management: Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to drive project success.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders effectively in a matrixed organization.

  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Agile Tools Proficiency: Strong knowledge of business process modeling with hands-on experience using tools like Jira, Confluence, and other Agile management platforms to streamline workflows.
  • Lean-Agile Expertise: Deep understanding of Lean-Agile principles and continuous delivery practices to optimize processes and ensure efficient, high-quality outcomes.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in insurance or financial services environments, leveraging industry-specific knowledge to drive innovation and system enhancements.
