Mutual of Omaha is seeking a talented Integration Engineer to support our Accounting and Financial Operations teams by developing, maintaining, and supporting API integrations for proprietary and vendor applications. This role will play a critical part in ensuring seamless communication between systems, enhancing performance and supporting vendor applications as part of our IT Portfolio.

  • Estimated Salary: $110,000 - $130,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Design, develop and maintain APIs for proprietary and third-party applications, ensuring security, performance, and compliance with best practices. Troubleshoot and resolve API and system integration issues. 

  • Collaborate with vendors to integrate and support external applications. 

  • Assist in system engineering tasks, including monitoring, and optimizing vendor applications. 

  • Work closely with internal teams to gather requirements and implement scalable integration solutions. 

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation related to APIs and integrations. 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 5+ years of professional experience developing APIs (RESTful and SOAP) and system integrations. Experience with API management tools (MuleSoft, Postman, Swagger, API Gateway). 
  • Experience with data exchange formats (JSON, XML) and either OpenAPI Specification (OAS) or RAML. Strong understanding of databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
  • Working knowledge of authentication and security standards (OAuth, SAML, JWT). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in object oriented programming languages such as Java, C#, or Node.js.
  • Experience with system administration, troubleshooting, and vendor application support.

  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Proven experience driving code quality through code reviews, best practices, and fostering a culture of maintainable, testable code. Experience working with enterprise applications and middleware solutions. Experience modernizing and optimizing technology to increase scale and stability.  

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Github) and DevOps practices. Ability to script and automate integration tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python. 

  • Knowledge of Accounting/Finance business processes.
